Lead Where It Matters: Get Involved with ICF WA

ICFWA Newsletter

Are you interested in writing the coaching profession’s next chapter? Some of the most meaningful ways to give back to our profession happen right here, in the community that supports coaches across Washington State. See below for exciting opportunities to make an impact in as little as a few hours a month!

1. Serve on the Board or a Leadership Team

We are considering new candidates for service on the board or our leadership teams. Consider nominating a fellow Washington coach–or stepping forward yourself! The following are priority areas that board members and volunteers will focus to help build a thriving association that outlasts any of us::

  • Coaching Equity. Ensures equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging are woven through the coaching profession in Washington and at large.
  • Membership & Belonging. Grows our membership, creates meaningful ways for members to connect, and owns the volunteer leadership pipeline.
  • Finance. Stewards the chapter's financial health to ensure we have resources to invest in Washington coaches.
  • Professional Development. Advances coaching excellence and owns the educational content of our conference.
  • Marketing & Communications. Connects Washington coaches with opportunities to learn, grow, and connect; amplifies Washington coaches’ stories.
  • Digital Experience. Uses technology, data, and responsible AI to make the chapter seamless and reduce volunteer workload.
  • Partnerships & Community Impact. Builds partnerships, secures resources, and leads community-impact work.

2. Join the Conference 2027 Planning Team

It is official. The board voted YES to host the ICF WA Conference in May 2027 during International Coaching Week. We are onboarding volunteers now. Join early and you will help organize our smaller in-person year-end gathering this winter, a perfect way to build momentum and practice ahead of the 2027 conference.

3. Host a Coach Community Connection (CCC) Group

Coach Community Connections are now a permanent ICF WA program, and new CCC communities are launching. We are looking for Community Room Hosts to facilitate connection, conversation, and community among fellow coaches. If you love creating space for peer connection with a low time commitment, this role is for you.

Ready to Step Forward?

You do not need to have it all figured out. Just curiosity, care for our community, and a willingness to lead. We will help with the rest. Here is how to start:

  • Reflect on fit. Which role matches your strengths, interests, and the time you can give?
  • Raise your hand. Complete the 2026 ICFWA Nominations Form to explore the Conference team or CCC hosting. For board and leadership roles, put your own name forward or forward the form to a fellow member to complete by August 15.
  • Have a conversation. Want to talk it through first? Reach out to our Nominating Committee at vicepresident@icfwashingtonstate.org by August 14, or contact any current board member. We would genuinely love to talk it through with you.

Thank you for considering how you might help lead ICF Washington State into its next chapter.
